KAMLOOPS - Kamloops RCMP have a suspect in custody following an attack in Riverside Park last night.
RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says a 20-year-old man will make a court appearance today following his arrest in an attempted stabbing incident which took place last night, Dec. 19, around 9:50 p.m. in Riverside Park.
Two people were walking in the park when they were approached by the man who took out a knife and unsuccessfully attempted to stab them.
The victims called Kamloops RCMP and supplied police with a description of the man, who officers found on the footpath of the Overlanders Bridge.
The suspect resisted arrest and was tasered.
Charges are pending against the man, who is from Kamloops and known to police.
