Suspect identified in downtown Kamloops Canada Day stabbing

KAMLOOPS —  The accused in a stabbing in downtown Kamloops on Canada Day has been identified.

Patrick Rejean Paul-Prescott, born 1987, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault in connection to the July 1 incident, according to court documents.

A 54-year-old man was left with serious injuries after he was stabbed by someone he knew at the corner of Victoria Street and 5 Avenue around 10 p.m. on July 1.

Paul-Prescott is currently in custody awaiting his bail hearing which is scheduled to take place on July 22.
