Man stabbed in downtown Kamloops on Canada Day

KAMLOOPS — RCMP responded to a stabbing incident that left a 54-year-old man with serious injuries on Canada Day in Kamloops.

Police were called to a stabbing on the corner of Victoria Street and 5 Avenue at 10 p.m. Monday, July 1, according to an RCMP media release.

The victim was taken to a local medical facility with serious but non-life threatening injuries. RCMP say witnesses at the scene were able to give details of the altercation and the suspect.

Police say both parties knew each other and have identified a person of interest.
