KELOWNA - Kelowna was the scene of a so-called 'social experiment' last week and the video is going viral.

Ed Smith puts a tracking device in his wallet and leaves it on a bench in City Park downtown Kelowna, according to the video. He and a friend then wait until a lone man comes along and finds it, checks out its contents and wanders off with the wallet.

Using the tracking app the two follow the man across Kelowna, videotaping the whole thing, as the man stops to do some errands and shopping. The duo think the man is using Smith’s money and keep following from a distance until the man starts to get close to Smith’s house.

Smith decides to confront him, and things end in a surprisingly positive way, though it does get awkward.

A version of the video was uploaded by Brand New Tech, a Facebook page relaying tech news, and has over 500,000 views. Another is on Youtube.
