Sunshine, warmer temperatures should return by the weekend in Kamloops

There are showers in the immediate Kamloops forecast, but the weekend should be sunny and warm.

Summer is taking a break in Kamloops today, but the sunshine and more seasonal temperatures should return in time for the weekend.

The weather today, July 23, and tomorrow could be a little unsettled with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms before the sunshine returns on Saturday.

Environment Canada says showers should end today followed by clearing conditions. Winds are expected to become southwest at 20 km/h gusting to 40 this afternoon with a high today of 30 Celsius.

More showers are expected later this evening in Kamloops along with a thunderstorm risk before tomorrow morning. The city should see an overnight low of 15 C.

Friday is expected to be unsettled with showers in the morning followed by a mix of sun and cloud. There is a possibility of a thunderstorm in the morning and afternoon, as the city reaches a high of  23 C with a low of 13 C overnight.

A sunny weekend is in store with a prediction of sunny skies and a high of 27 C on Saturday, along with an overnight low of 14 C.

More sun is forecast for Sunday with a high of 31 C and a low of 17 C.

It continues to warm up next week with temperatures on Monday and Tuesday expected to reach 34 C and 36 C respectively, along with overnight lows of 17 C on both nights.

More sunshine and a high of 34 C is expected Wednesday.

Normal temperatures this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 29 C and lows of 14 C.
