KAMLOOPS - The sunny skies and mild temperatures this week are expected to continue through the weekend and into next week in Kamloops.

Environment Canada meteorologist Armel Castellan says the strong ridge of high pressure currently dominating southern B.C., including Kamloops, could begin breaking down in the middle of next week. The weather will transition into a more active pattern rain, more clouds and wind.

Until then, Kamloops can expect a mix of sun and cloud through to Tuesday next week with daytime high temperatures in the mid-teens. Overnight lows are not anticipated to go below freezing levels.

The forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloudy today, Oct. 18, with a high of 15 Celsius.

Tomorrow and Saturday should see mostly sunny skies over Kamloops with highs around 16 C.

Sunday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 14 C.

Castellan says in spite of the recent dry spell, Kamloops could still achieve normal precipitation levels for October, as 13 mm of rain fell on the city prior to Oct. 9. Normal precipitation for October is 20 mm.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 12 C and lows of 2 C.
