OKANAGAN – The forecast calls for sunshine and hot temperatures for the rest of the week and through the weekend in the Okanagan.
Today, July 13, will be sunny, though the smoke from the nearby wildfires may block some of the sunshine according to Environment Canada. A high of 32 Celsius is predicted for the day, and a low of 14 C at night.
An air quality statement is still in effect for the Okanagan due to the wildfire smoke, which may cause breathing difficulties.
Tomorrow things will get hotter, with a high of 34 C forecast, along with sunny skies. Again, local smoke will be a factor. At night a low of 16 C is expected.
Going into the weekend Saturday will be fairly hot as well, matching the high of 34 C, though it may feel a little cooler as some wind is expected. At night the temperature may fall to 12 C.
Things will cool down a bit on Sunday, with sunshine and a high of 27 C. A night time low of 12 C predicted.
Next week looks like more of the same, with sunny skies and temperatures around 30 C.
Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 27 C and lows of 12 C.
