In October, The Ski Club of Great Britain, the UK’s largest Snowsport membership club, recognized the top three North American ski resorts that received the highest consumer recommendation from UK skiers. The awards were determined upon the conclusion of the Ski Club’s consumer research report 2016.
Based on the responses of over 17,000 skiers and snowboarders, Sun Peaks Resort was honoured alongside Breckenridge Resort in Colorado and Whistler-Blackcomb as the top three resorts consumers would be most likely to recommend.
Rupert Peters, Destination Canada's Regional Managing Director of Core Markets, expressed his praise for the coveted award, "With winter travel to Canada continuing to grow from the UK, it’s great to see Sun Peaks honoured in this way. Nothing beats recognition by skiers themselves and so, congratulations to the Tourism Sun Peaks team for their efforts, which are clearly making an impact in the all-important and highly competitive UK market."
Sun Peaks' UK profile is further elevated by the recent announcement of the Snowbombing Festival, as the resort was chosen as the sole North American destination for Europe's largest music festival on snow.
Coming off the heels of the most successful winter season in recent years, Canada's second largest ski area will be looking to build off this momentum for the 2016/17 winter season with new courses, activities and terrain. All of which will assist Sun Peaks in continuing its ascent in becoming one of the top ski resort destinations in North America.
