KAMLOOPS - There’s a return to summer conditions in the Kamloops forecast, but enjoy it while you can, because it may not last long.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Lisa Ervin says sunny conditions are forecast for Kamloops today, Sept. 4, with a high of 23 Celsius.

A change in wind direction to a more southerly flow tomorrow is expected to bring temperatures in the city from 27 C on Wednesday to a high of 29 C on Thursday, before a low pressure system is expected to reach the region Friday.

The front is expected to bring a major change in weather, just in time for the weekend.

Expect a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 25 C on Friday, with showers and possible thunderstorms Saturday.

Ervin says the preliminary long term forecast for fall is for the return of El Nino conditions, with overall temperatures anticipated to be above normal for the three month period between September and November.
