Local companies are starting to see their products for sale at London Drugs, including those of an innovative Summerland maple syrup producer.
London Drugs has introduced Summerland’s Maple Roch products at both Kelowna locations and into the Penticton store.
The company produces maple syrup products such as maple walnuts, almond roca and maple syrup, which is made from both local and New Brunswick-based trees.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for us during this difficult time. I want to say thank you to London Drugs,” Maple Roch owner Roch Fortin says. “It’s important when you see a larger retail business come on board and help local business. It makes such a huge difference. Hopefully we can build a long-term relationship and grow.”
London Drugs launched Local Central on April 28 to provide shelf space for local companies affected by COVID-19 restrictions.
More businesses are expected to be added to the Local Central initiative in the coming weeks.
