A former top official with the Thompson-Nicola Regional District under scrutiny over his spending expenses, has resigned from the board of Thompson Rivers University.
"Sukh Gill has resigned from the Board of Governors at Thompson Rivers University," A statement from the university says. "The Board of Governors thanks him for his service over the last two years. No further comment will be provided on Mr. Gill’s resignation."
Gill served on the university's finance committee, audit committee, and the advisory committee for investments.
His resignation follows a series of reports on Gill's spending practices while working as chief administrative officer of the regional district.
The reports by Kamloops This Week list a series of lavish expenses including hotels, dinners for staff and politicians, plus some liquor store expenses.
Gill was never cited for inappropriate spending policy violations, however questions remain about his spending and why he left the district about a year ago.
A university spokesman said they have no information at this time on what step the process to replace Gill is in.
