FILE PHOTO

A sudden death in a Vernon hotel is being deemed suspicious by RCMP.

Const. Kelly Brett said on Friday, Feb. 28 just before 8 p.m., the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP were called to a local hotel for a report of a sudden death.

"The Vernon RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS) has now taken conduct of the investigation, with support from the Forensic Identification Section and are treating the incident as suspicious in nature," Brett said.

RCMP remain on scene as the investigation is on-going.

To protect the integrity of the investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
