Strong start to 2020 for the South Okanagan real estate market

The South Okanagan real estate market got off to a strong start in January with sales up by more than 50 per cent from the same month last year.

The South Okanagan Real Estate Board’s figures show 100 sales last month compared to 67 in January, 2019.

Sales volume was up 62 per cent with $41,274,252 in sales reported in January, 2020, compared to $25,382,007 during the same month in 2019.

The average sale price for a home was down 39 per cent last month, falling from $638,544 in January 2019 to $412,743.

New listings edged slightly higher last month with 221 versus 217 in January, 2019.
