Land where this industrial park will be built sold for $25 million.

A Burnaby-based industrial land developer has the distinction of paying the highest price for a piece of industrial land ever in Kelowna.
Beedie announced in April that it bought 14.7 acres at 2050 Pier Mac Way in Kelowna and planned to build the 144,462 square foot Stratosphere Business Centre.
The price was not disclosed at the time but it is now posted by B.C. Assessments as $25 million.

In December, the Mission Group spent $24 million for the former B.C. Tree Fruits site next to the Tolko Industries lands in Kelowna. At that time it was considered the highest price paid for industrial land in Kelowna’s history.
That property includes an 89,000 square foot building close to Okanagan Lake whereas the Beedie purchase was for bare land in a former gravel pit across from Kelowna International Airport.
Beadie has a website where people can register their interest to purchase industrial units ranging from 7,640 square feet up to 75,100 square feet.
The former Costco site in Kelowna sold this spring for $31 million. That’s zoned commercial but is of a similar size at 11.2 acres. It comes with a 135,000 square foot building.
