Stolen property, drugs and guns seized in Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP were called to an apartment on Tranquille Road to remove alleged squatters Tuesday morning.

When officers arrived around 11 a.m., Nov. 9, they found the two people were lawful tenants of the apartment on the 300-block of Tranquille Road, but police say they spotted two stolen e-bikes while on the scene.

“In recognizing that stolen property was present in the apartment, police arrested the two lawful tenants, then held the scene so a search warrant could be obtained and executed,” Const. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, said in a media release.

Police seized the e-bikes, a high-end mountain bike, drugs and three sawed-off long-barrelled rifles.

The investigation is ongoing before police recommend charges to the B.C. Prosecution Service.
