Kamloops RCMP recovered a stolen BMW, but not its driver after it rammed a police cruiser last week.

The grey sedan was reported stolen from the Tournament Capital Centre just an before it drove into the front of a parked RCMP vehicle on the 1300 block of Cornwall Street, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

The officer was uninjured and the vehicle had minor damage, while the car was later found abandoned on the 900 block of Renfrew Street.

Police are now looking for the suspects or any information about the theft. The driver was described as a 25- to 30-year-old Caucasian woman with dirty blond or brown hair. A man was also riding in the passenger seat, according to the news release.

“Maybe you saw a couple of people walking on or away from Renfrew Street, or maybe someone caught your eye earlier in the day in the parking lot of the TCC – whatever information you think you might have that could help assist in furthering this investigation is worth calling police about please,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP said in the release.

The car was reported stolen around 7:35 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, after a backpack with its keys was stolen sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m.

It struck the Kamloops RCMP vehicle around 8:40 p.m., but police didn't say what time it was found on Renfrew Street.
