Most actively traded companies on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange markets

TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,603.09 up 0.91 point):

Uranium One Inc. (TSX:UUU). Miner. Up 35 cents, or 14.52 per cent, at $2.76 on 59,288,101 shares. ARMZ, the Russian majority shareholder of Uranium One, made a friendly offer of $1.3 billion to buy out minority shareholders and take the company private.

Aurizon Mines Ltd. (TSX:ARZ). Miner. Up $1.14, or 33.43 per cent, at $4.55 on 15,883,540 shares. Alamos Gold Inc. (TSX:AGI) made a stock and cash takeover bid with Vancouver-based Aurizon that values the junior mining company at $780 million. Alamos stocks dropped $2.02, or 11.94 per cent, to $14.90 on 2,503,215 shares.

Research In Motion (TSX:RIM). Wireless technology. Up $1.39, or 10.44 per cent, at $14.70 on 14,979,261 shares. The stock closed at its highest level since February 2012 as reports emerged that Apple, its major competitor, reduced orders for parts for the iPhone 5 as sales fell short of expectations.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Up 11 cents, or 2.76 per cent, at $4.10 on 10,026,609 shares.

Paladin Energy Ltd. (TSX:PDN). Miner. Up 12 cents, or 11.11 per cent, at $1.20 on 5,513,378 shares.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Down a penny, or 0.26 per cent, at $3.88 on 5,163,415 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,229.53 down 10.72 points):

Zodiac Exploration Inc. (TSXV:ZEX). Miner. Unchanged at 13 cents at 4,384,583 shares.

Pelangio Exploration Inc. (TSXV:PX). Miner. Up two cents, or 10 per cent, at 22 cents on 4,323,530 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Harry Winston Diamond Corp. (TSX:HW). Miner. Up 63 cents, or 4.41 per cent, at $14.90 on 1,178,160 shares. The company signed a deal to sell its namesake retail jewelry and watch division in a deal pegged at US$1 billion in cash and assumed debt to Switzerland's Swatch Group. The Toronto-based diamond miner will be renamed Dominion Diamond Corp.

Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (TSX:XSR). Audio entertainment. Up 19 cents, or 3.17 per cent, at $6.19 on 5628,522 shares. The Toronto-based company reached an agreement with Chrysler Canada under which the auto company will install SiriusXM commercial-free satellite radios in an unspecified number of vehicles over the next five years.
