LAKE COUNTRY - The former frontman of the Barenaked Ladies, Steven Page, will be making a stop in Lake Country next spring for a performance at the Creekside Theatre.

Page's most recent solo album Discipline: Heal Thyself Pt. II will be released on Friday, Sept. 14, according to a District of Lake Country media release. The songwriter calls this album the most forceful musical statement of his solo music career.

“I grew up in a household where social justice was a fundamental value, and I always believed that it was a fundamental Canadian value as well as a central Jewish one,” Page says in the release. “I’ve watched how the term has been twisted and perverted by the Right over the last several years in an effort to diminish the voices of reason.”

Cultural development coordinator for the Creekside Theatre, Ryan Donn, says they are building a brand of hosting distinct acts.

“We are over the moon to host such a well-known Canadian icon in Lake Country," Donn says in the release.

Tickets for the May 28, 2019, performance go on sale this Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. A $43 ticket includes fees, charges and the digital copy of Page's album.

The opening act for the show is Port Cities.

Tickets can be found here.
