PENTICTON - Oliver RCMP are hoping the public can assist them in recovering a unique art piece stolen from a residence during a wildfire evacuation alert in August.

Sometime on Aug. 9 a home on McKinney Road in Oliver was broken into shortly after the occupants voluntarily evacuated due to a nearby wildfire, RCMP spokesperson Const. James Grandy said in a press release issued this morning, Sept. 4.

The home was broken into during the short period of time the residents had left their home during the evacuation alert. Thieves took several items but the owner is particularly hopeful a unique stained glass art piece, framed in circular wood, can be recovered.

Anyone who might know the whereabouts of this item or information related to the break and enter is asked to call Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
