SANTA PONSA — Felix Auger-Aliassime rallied for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Serbia’s Hamad Medjedovic in Thursday’s quarterfinals at the Mallorca Championships.
The Montreal native fired 11 aces and broke Medjedovic three times on six chances.
Auger-Aliassime, seeded second and ranked 27th in the ATP Rankings, improved to 7-0 in tour-level quarterfinals this season. He’s now tied with world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz for the most semifinal appearances in 2025.
He’ll face Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands in Friday's semi at the grass-court event.
Auger-Aliassime, a two-time titlist this year with wins in Montpellier and Adelaide, is chasing his third career final on grass and first since 2021.
Griekspoor beat Montreal’s Gabriel Diallo 6-4, 6-4 earlier Thursday.
Diallo had eight aces but couldn’t convert his lone break-point opportunity.
The six-foot-eight Diallo, who entered the tournament with a career-high No. 41 ranking, is due to make his Wimbledon main-draw debut at the All-England Lawn Tennis Club next week.
