MONCTON — Canada's men's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Cuba in the final of continental qualifications for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics on Saturday.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22.
Canada had defeated Mexico 3-0 in Friday's semifinal.
Canada, Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican Republic advanced to the four-team qualification tournament based on their performance at the recent NORCECA volleyball championship, where Canada finished runner-up to the Olympic-host United States.?
Stephen Maar led Canada with 22 points, with 20 attacks and two blocks. Captain Eric Loeppky chipped in 14 points.
Marlon Yant Herrera paced the Olympic-bound Cubans with 25 points.
