A South Okanagan nurse has been suspended for seven days for taking a second job while on sick leave.
According to a Dec. 11, BC College of Nurses and Midwives decision, Oliver licenced practical nurse Jody Furness was on leave from her employer after being deemed not fit to practice.
However, the nursing regulator says while on leave Furness then took a job at a different health-care facility.

The incident happened in May 2022 and the regulator doesn't say where Furness worked at the time and no information about why she was deemed not fit to practice is given.
The College suspended Furness' licence for seven days.
She will also have to take courses on professional standards, responsibility and accountability.
The nursing regulator says it's satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
