A thief made off with a massive piece of machinery after taking it away from a Kelowna construction site on a flat deck trailer.
An orange Skytrak Telehandler was stolen around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, according to a Kelowna RCMP news release.
Police didn't say whether they know which direction the suspect headed, but a man was captured on video breaking into the construction site and leaving with the equipment.
He entered from the highway side of the construction site and loaded it to a flat deck trailer on the corner of Pier Mac Way and Lochrem Road before hauling it away with a semi truck, according to the release.
"The Kelowna RCMP is fully engaged and will use every investigational avenue in an effort to bring those involved to justice and return the equipment to its rightful owners," spokesperson Const. Mike Della-Paolera said in the release.
Police didn't say whether they believe more than one suspect was involved.
Kelowna RCMP is asking anyone with dash camera footage along Highway 97 North from 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Sunday to contact the detachment.
