A lottery ticket buyer in the Lower Mainland is set to be the next multi-millionaire in B.C.

A Lotto 6/49 draw last night, April 7, revealed the winning numbers for an $18.7 million prize, according to a news release from the B.C. Lottery Corporation.

The ticket was purchased in Surrey and the winner now has a year to claim their prize.

The Lotto 6/49 jackpot winner is the third in five weeks from the Lower Mainland. A Burnaby couple picked up a $6 million prize on March 16 and an uncle and nephew split an $8 million win on March 9.

Along with the multi-million dollar jackpot, a Penticton-area ticket matched the $1 million draw and a ticket in Langley matched five of the six numbers, winning $58,000.

If the winners claim their prize within 52 weeks, BCLC will announce the retail location where it was purchased and the lottery winner's name.
