Some flurries, but no major snowfall expected this week in Kamloops

There is a bit of sun in the forecast for Kamloops but residents can expect mostly cloudy skies over the next few days.

A continuing pattern of neutral weather, with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark, is in this week’s Kamloops forecast.

The weather pattern could make it difficult to predict a white Christmas in Kamloops. While there are snow flurries in the forecast, temperatures are expected to reach 4 Celsius by Friday, with Christmas five days away. Weekend highs are also expected to reach just above the freezing mark.

Mainly cloudy today, Dec. 16, in Kamloops with the flurries expected to end this afternoon. The wind will be out of east at 20 km/h with a high of -1 C and a windchill near -10 C.

The forecast calls for clouds overnight with a 30 per cent chance of flurries, the wind east at 20 km/h and the temperature steady near -1 C with a windchill of -9 C. 

Tomorrow is expected to be mainly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of flurries in the morning. Winds from the east at 30 km/h could gust to 50, with a high of 3 C forecast. The windchill tomorrow morning is expected to be -9 C.

Cloudy skies are forecast for Wednesday with a high of 1 C and a low of -2 C . Wednesday night could see a 40 per cent chance of flurries.

Thursday should see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 1 C.

Periods of snow are expected overnight Thursday with a low of 0 C.

The sun should return Friday with a high of 4 C forecast. Friday’s low should dip to 0 C along with a return to cloudy skies.

Cloudy skies are expected to continue through the weekend along with a high of 2 C on Saturday and a high of 1 C on Monday.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 0 C and lows of -7 C.
