TORONTO - Toronto FC, in its eighth MLS season, has yet to see the playoffs. But it's getting a taste of what the promised land might look like thanks to the Toronto Raptors.
The fan support for the NBA Raptors, a sister team to TFC under the Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment ownership umbrella, during the post-season has not gone unnoticed.
"We were at the (Raptors-Nets) game the other day," said Canadian international midfielder Jonathan Osorio, "and everybody was thinking, I'm sure — especially me and the (other) Toronto kids — we love that.
"Toronto is a great city for sports and the fans are amazing. It's amazing all the support the Raptors are getting but I imagine if TFC gets to the playoffs, for the first time in its eight years, it's going to be incredible. So there's definitely motivation."
