LONDON - Manchester City staged a second-half comeback to beat Tottenham and remain hot on the heels of Premier League leader Manchester United, while Chelsea fell off the pace by drawing with Liverpool on Sunday.

City's unbeaten league start looked under threat when Steven Caulker headed Tottenham in front but goals from Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko clinched a 2-1 victory.

As the champions went two points behind United, Chelsea fell a point further back in third after being held to a 1-1 draw.

Chelsea captain John Terry marked his return from a racism ban by heading in his 50th club goal, but the defender was later carried off with a serious-looking injury and Luis Suarez equalized in the second half.

In Sunday's other game, West Ham beat Newcastle 1-0.
