The family of a missing Merritt man isn't giving up the search.

Miguel Mack, 24, was last seen on Feb. 27 in Merritt, according to an RCMP media release.

“He's left for a day or two before but nothing more,” Mack’s brother Elijah Mack-Stirling told iNFOnews yesterday, March 7. “We started to panic by day five, typically he checks into social media or texts from a friend’s home to check in. This is day eight now of no communication.”

Mack-Stirling said he's organizing a search group to start “pounding the pavement” and cover the backcountry.

“We’re requesting support from others,” he said. “Mom’s house will be used as the main point of contact.”

The head office for the B.C. Association of Aboriginal Friendships Centres released a poster for the family to circulate.

Mack-Stirling said the Merritt RCMP have been “phenomenal” in their support for the family.

“Unfortunately we can’t provide anything at this point,” Merritt RCMP Sgt. Josh Roda. “He's still missing and if anyone has any information of where he is or the reasons for his disappearance, phone the Merritt RCMP.”

Mack is described as a First Nations male, 5’10” tall and 200 lb. with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a burgundy hoodie with white writing, dark pants and toque.

Anyone with information on the whereabout of Miguel Mack is urged to contact their local police, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
