Environment Canada says up to 25 centimetres of snow is expected to fall on the Hope-Princeton highway today.

A weather alert has been issued for Highway 3, from Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass, as a northerly flow brings bands of moisture over the area with periods of snow expected on and off through today, Nov. 25, and tonight.

Local snowfall amounts will vary with the most snow expected on Allison Pass, where nine centimetres had already fallen by 8 a.m. today.

Total amounts are expected to range between 15 and 25 cm.

Drivers are reminded to be aware of quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
