Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning this afternoon for the Coquihalla and drivers can expect up to 15 centimetres on the highway tonight.

“An unstable airmass moving across the B. C. Interior will give snow to most southern highway passes tonight. Light snow over the Coquihalla Highway (from) Hope to Merritt will become heavier this evening and will persist through tonight.

"Total snow accumulations near 15 cm can be expected before the snow tapers off to a few flurries overnight,” according to Environment Canada’s weather statement. Earlier today, an Environment Canada meteorologist warned drivers the highway could see up to 10 cm of snow but that information has since been updated.
