KELOWNA – The RCAF Snowbirds made a pit stop in Kelowna today.

All nine of the Canadair CT-114 Tutors and their pilots touched down at Kelowna International Airport shortly before noon today, April 25, fuelled up and took off in formation.

Airport spokesperson Jodie Foster says the pilots were on their way back to Moose Jaw from one of their training grounds in Comox.

“It was their whole squadron,” she says.

Now in their 48th season, the Snowbirds are known across North America for their aerobatic performances and skillful fly-bys.

These brief stops in Kelowna could be the Okanagan’s only chance to see them this year, as there are no local shows scheduled for 2018 on the Snowbirds website.
