Snow warnings issued for Okanagan and Okanagan highways

New snow advisories have been issued for the North Okanagan, Central Okanagan and Shuswap.

“A low pressure system over southern BC will continue to spread snow over the region tonight. As well, an arctic front has arrived with strong gusty winds resulting in dropping temperatures. The combination of falling snow with very strong winds will result in blowing snow and poor visibility,” according to Environment Canada in a statement.

For the southwest interior, the worst conditions are expected (tonight). Visibility will improve through the night as snow tapers off and winds ease.”

Travel is ill advised at this time, as visibility will be low, according to Environment Canada.

Snow advisories continue in the South Thompson, and Nicola regions as well as the Okanagan Connector and Coquihalla.
