Smith Creek Traffic Calming Options Explored

A traffic calming study is being conducted in the Smith Creek neighbourhood and the District of West Kelowna is seeking input from residents to assist in developing an action plan for the area.

The municipality’s Engineering Department encourages residents to attend an open house to learn the nature of the study, provide feedback and ask questions of West Kelowna staff and the traffic consultant hired to assist in the development of the plan:

Monday, June 17, 2013
Doors open at 6 pm
Presentation at 6:30 pm
Westbank Lions Hall
2466 Main Street

An online survey will also be conducted from June 17 to 21 on the municipality’s home page at www.districtofwestkelowna.ca under Events and Meetings. The survey will help in identifying potential traffic calming locations and needs for the Smith Creek neighbourhood.

Information collected during the open house and through the online survey will be used to aid in the development of a draft Smith Creek Traffic Calming Plan. Recommendations will be presented to residents for further feedback during a second open house in the fall. The plan will then be presented to Mayor and Council for input and direction.

For more information, please contact the District of West Kelowna Engineering Department at 778-797-8840 or info@districtofwestkelowna.ca.
