Small Osoyoos fire under control; Kamloops spot fire under attack

The Anarchist Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and B.C. Wildfire extinguished a lightning strike fire on Anarchist Mountain early Saturday morning.

OSOYOOS - A small Anarchist Mountain fire generated by a lightning strike is under control.

The Anarchist Mountain Volunteer Fire Departmant and a B.C. Wildfire attack crew went out this morning along with one helicopter and suppressed the blaze, B.C. Wildfire spokesperson Meliss Welsh said. Four fire wardens are patrolling the area to make sure there aren't any flair ups.

Crews are also hitting a lightning strike spot fire near Mica Creek north-east of Kamloops with one helicopter doing reconnaissance.
