SilverStar Mountain to reopen in July

SilverStar Mountain Resort has set a tentative date and will be opening its summer season July 9, with the mountain biking park and gondola adhering to new social distancing measures.

According to a SilverStar Mountain Resort press release, the ski hill plans to open with reduced hours which will see it close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

"Our top priority remains the health and safety of our staff, guests and community," SilverStar director of sales and marketing Ian Jenkins said. "We chose to delay our summer opening to ensure we are following all the necessary regulations set out by the province and to make sure everyone who visits SilverStar this summer leaves feeling confident knowing we have taken great care in following all health and safety protocols."

The SilverStar mountain bike park is one of the largest in Canada and passes are now on sale for the summer season.

SilverStar also says this year has had a very large snowpack with a lot of wind which is taking longer to melt the snow.

When the Comet Chair lift does open for bikes, riders will find social distancing in effect in the line-ups. The Gondola will also be open for sightseers every weekend.
