VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Silver Wheaton Corp. (SLW) on Monday reported first-quarter net income of $41 million.
On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had net income of 10 cents.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 13 cents per share.
The precious metals streaming company posted revenue of $187.5 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $190.1 million.
Silver Wheaton shares have climbed 57 per cent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased nearly 2 per cent in the last 12 months.
