SICAMOUS - After an investigation into allegations regarding child pornography, a Sicamous man has been arrested and charged with two offences.
In a news release, Sicamous RCMP says the investigation into the allegations began in November 2017, which led to the execution of a search warrant at a Sicamous home on Jan. 29.
The search resulted in the seizure of computers and computer storage devices, the release states, adding that a forensic analysis of the devices found child pornography images.
Duane Redekopp, 44, has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography. Redekopp has been released on conditions including an order prohibiting him from contacting anyone under 18, and from possessing a device that could access the internet.
According to the release, police have no evidence to suggest Redekopp offended against any local children. He's due in Salmon Arm court April 24.
The charges against Redekopp have not been proven in court.
