After a decade in office, Shuswap MLA Greg Kyllo has announced he will not seek re-election and will retire from politics.

“While this hasn’t been an easy decision, I look forward to spending more time with family – especially my grandchildren,” the BC United MLA said in a news release issued today, Oct. 17.

“Although I won't be seeking re-election, I remain committed to working for the people of Shuswap and holding David Eby's NDP to account until the next election."

Kyllo was first elected in 2013 and will serve until the next election that has to be held by Oct. 19, 2024.

He's currently serving as the Shadow Minister for Labour and Skills Training but has also worked as Deputy Caucus Whip and Parliamentary Secretary for the BC Jobs Plan to the Minister of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training.
