OKANAGAN - A clearing trend is on the way for the Okanagan that should make for sunny skies and cooler temperatures, but not before some rain falls tonight.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says there is a good chance of showers this afternoon, Nov. 15, and tonight as a disturbance brings rain and possible flurries to the valley floor. You can expect a high of 6 Celsius today and a low of -1 C overnight.

The Okanagan Connector could see up to five centimetres of snow overnight, with up to two cm falling on the Coquihalla Highway.

Tomorrow the skies will clear to a mix of sun and cloud as a high pressure ridge builds over the Okanagan Valley. Vernon and Kelowna can expect a high of around 4 C, with Penticton reaching 7 C. Overnight up and down the valley the mercury will drop to about -3 C.

The weekend looks to be sunny, but cool, with a high of 1 C on Saturday and Sunday and overnight lows around -5 C.

Monday is forecast to warm up a degree to 2 C under sunny skies.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of 3 C and lows of -3 C.
