Showers expected in Kamloops, Okanagan just in time for weekend

Showers are returning to the Kamloops and Okanagan, just in time for the weekend.

For most areas, Saturday will be the best day for outdoor activities with a mix of sun and cloud and seasonal temperatures expected for the region.

Environment Canada says Kamloops should see a 40 to 60 per cent chance of showers today, March 18, through Friday with highs of 14 Celsius today and 13 C tomorrow.

The Okanagan could see a 40 per cent chance of showers in Vernon and Kelowna today, with showers extending south to Penticton this evening. Okanagan highs should reach 13 C in Vernon and Kelowna, and 14 C in Penticton today,

There is a risk of thunderstorms in the Okanagan tomorrow along with a 60 per cent chance of showers. Daytime highs of 11 C are expected for Vernon and Kelowna, 10 C for Penticton.

Kamloops and the Okanagan should see a break in the showers on Saturday, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 12 C expected in Kamloops, and 10 C in the Okanagan.

Showers are expected to return on Sunday in the Thompson-Okanagan. There’s a 30 per cent chance of rain in Kamloops along with a high of 9 C, while the Okanagan faces a 40 per cent prospect of showers, with a high of 7 C in Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton.
