An early morning shooting in West Kelowna has sent a man to hospital with a gun shot wound.

Officers responded to a report of a man being shot just before 1:30 a.m. today, April 7, in the 2400 block of Quince Road in West Kelowna, according to an RCMP media release.

A man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries from what police describe as an “apparent gun shot wound.”

“Officers remain on scene conducting neighbourhood canvassing, speaking with witnesses, and gathering physical evidence,” RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in the release.

“The investigation is still in its early stages and officers will be in the area for an undetermined period of time.”
