Penticton spoken word poet Shane Koyczan – whose shows usually sell out – has announced dates in Oliver and Revelstoke.

Koyczan delivers intense messages through his performances that focus largely on growing up, bullying and feeling insecure.

“Here is a writer that takes you on a tour of your own feelings in a way that leaves you grasping for your own heart just to make sure it’s still in your chest,” according to the event listing. “His work has become a staple in schools for both its impact and reach. Shane curates a kind of art gallery that displays sculptures of the human experience each time he speaks.”

Koyczan will be at the Frank Venables Theatre in Oliver on March 29 and tickets are $35. In Revelstoke he’ll be at the Performing Arts Centre on March 31 and tickets cost $25.

Before Koyczan returns to the Okanagan, he will be performing in cities in Washington State, Oregon and California as part of his current tour.
