Conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms in the Okanagan, South Thompson, Nicola and Boundary regions.
A severe thunderstorm watch was issued this morning, June 10, by Environment Canada.
The thunderstorms may have the potential to generate strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
"Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads," the alert says.
"Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall."
