People can now use the roads around Clifton and High Roads in the Glenmore neighbourhood after they were closed because of a serious motor vehicle collision.

RCMP reported this afternoon that, at about 8:55 a.m. today, Aug. 11, a "white semi-truck and trailer was executing a southbound turn onto Clifton Road from High Road when it flipped onto its side."

The driver wasn't injured but a passenger was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the release states.

The roads were closed for several hours but are now open.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the accident, has dash-cam footage or saw the vehicle before the collision to call Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Services at 250-762-3300.

The earlier news release said police closed Clifton Road between Mountain Avenue and High Road this morning.

As well, High Road between Clifton and Glenmore roads is closed, due to the severity of the collision, according to an RCMP news release.
