UPDATE: Highway 97 at Monte Lake reopens after serious collision

Highway 97 on the way to Kamloops from Vernon has reopened following a serious collision this morning.

The crash took place this morning, Jan. 16, in the 3800 block of Highway 97 in Monte Lake between Buff Frontage Road and Mill Road about 22 kilometres west of Falkland and 19 km east of Monte Creek.

Officers with the BC Highway Patrol and Vernon RCMP were called to the scene, according to an RCMP media release.

No word from police if anyone was killed or injured in the crash.
