VERNON - Police are looking for more information about a hit and run that left a 69-year-old man unconscious on the side of the road.
RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk said the accident happened Thursday, Jan. 8 just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Husband Road and Kalamalka Lake Road in Coldstream.
“The witness who reported the accident had a video of the event because of his dash cam,” Molendyk said.
From the video, it appears the female driver of the red SUV involved in the accident got out of her vehicle to check on the victim.
“The woman told people who were coming to the scene that he was fine. She then jumped back into her vehicle and left,” Molendyk said.
The victim was lying unconscious on the side of the road. He was transported to Vernon Jubilee Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition this morning. The full extent of his injuries are unknown.
Police are appealing to the driver of the SUV involved in this accident to contact the investing officers and provide details of what happened.
The driver is described as a Caucasian woman, with brown hair tied back, wearing a dark jacket and capri pants about, 5’2 to 5’4” tall.
