NEAR SORRENTO - The occupants of a semi-truck walked away with minor injuries after the vehicle skidded across two driveways and into the trees early yesterday morning.

The single vehicle crash happened around 3 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 in the 2000 block of the Trans Canada Highway in the area of Blind Bay and Sorrento, Sgt. Scott West says in a media release.

“An Ontario registered west bound semi truck left the road and went into the ditch where it went across two driveways and into the trees and brush,” West says.

The driver, and a co-driver that was in the sleeper, suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital by ambulance.

“The driver reported that he was attempting to avoid an animal on the highway,” West says.

No other vehicles were involved and no charges are being investigated.
