Scenes from Vancouver and B.C. are going to become part of a popular post-apocalyptic television series.

When fans of The Last of Us get to enjoy season two upon its release, they’ll be watching scenes that were filmed in the province.

"We are thrilled that Vancouver and British Columbia were chosen as the location to film season two of The Last of Us,” Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport said in a press release.

“The show is one of the most popular on television and one of the biggest productions ever to come to our province. This is a major boon to B.C.'s economy and an opportunity for global viewers of the show to experience the beauty of British Columbia.”

The show’s first season was filmed in Alberta, and viewers can recognizes scenes that were shot in Calgary, Edmonton and Calgary, although the show is set in the US.

"Alberta set an amazing precedent for us to continue working on this successful series. They should be proud of the work they brought to the screen."

The HBO series is an adaptation of a video game.
