It’s all hands on deck today for the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue team to find a missing Kelowna woman.

Chelsea Cardno was last seen leaving her home on Dougall Road South in Kelowna at around 8 a.m., June 14. She was heading to the park to walk her German shepherd named JJ and her white BMW was found parked at the north end of Pasadena Road.

The search was suspended in the last few days due to dangerously high Mission Creek waters but Ed Henczel, spokesperson with the search and rescue team, said crews are back in the field and will be searching all day.

They have 20 members on site, a helicopter, a boat team in Okanagan Lake, a swift water team and a drone as water levels have dropped significantly, he said.

Friends and family members of Cardno will also be aiding the search this morning, according to a Facebook event page.

A table will be set up from 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Mission Creek Regional Park near the Education Centre on Springfield Road for volunteer sign in and the search will begin at 10:30 a.m.
