A rescue truck stolen out of Williams Lake last weekend has been recovered.

Last Saturday, April 2, the Central Cariboo Search and Rescue announced a rescue truck had been stolen from the group's search and rescue building in Williams Lake. Toady, April 9, the group announced it has been found.

“We want to send out a massive heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of you who helped us spread the word and inevitably led to the finding of the truck,” according to a Facebook post by the Central Cariboo Search and Rescue.

Members also thanked the 150 Mile House Volunteer Fire Department for lending them rescue items.

The group said no more details can be shared as the RCMP investigation is ongoing.

“We love our community and feel honoured to provide the services and help that we do. As our chief says, ‘We are CCSAR Strong.’ Thank you for helping us stay strong this week.”

A second rescue truck was also stolen in the Cariboo region last night from the Interlakes Volunteer Fire Department in Bridge Lakes.
